Please see the August 15 Transportation Update.

Most mass transit travels to Minneapolis/St Paul, MN, which is 1.5 hours from Harmony Park, where the event will occur. Arrange carpools or shuttle rides together from Minneapolis via our Facebook RideShare site.

Plane – Airlines from most locations in North America fly in to the Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport (MSP), which is a major hub.

Join with other permaculturists and travel on trains together to attend the NAPC! Michael Pilarski has made arrangements for a Group Discount on Amtrak tickets for anyone from all around North America to travel by train to the NAPC.  Meet up with other permaculturists on the train and start the convergence before you arrive! Read more details about the Amtrak discount.

BusGreyhound and other buses travel to Albert Lea, MN which is 15 minutes from the site.

Hey there. I would like to take the Amtrak to the Convergence. Am wondering about any available lodging in Chicago on someone’s sofa or ?? Have no personal contacts there and am trying to keep the funds down and affordable for the convergence. Any ideas? The Amtrak overnights in Chicago and the train station closes, so I’d need something. Perhaps I can find lodging thru the Amtrak itself, but I don’t really relish that idea. Comments? Ideas? Affordability will determine whether my partner can come as well. Thanks so much. Hope I can get there! Becky in Manitou Springs, Colorado

Hi Becky, have you considered driving out there with other Colorado permies? I may be making the trip myself.

    Good day to you all,

I’m from Ontario and I, too, am travelling by Amtrak. But the timing is less than ideal. I arrive St.P-M at 10 pm and, on Monday, the eastbound train departs at 8 a.m. Can someone pick me up and drop me off?

      Hello Richard!
Thank you for reaching out. I am not sure quite what you mean. You arrive in St. Paul Monday night at 10pm. Then you are going to take a train at 8 am to where? I did not think there are any trains going to the NAPC in Clarks Grove.
If you are coming for a pre napc class then I would recomend contacting the person who registered you for ways to get you to the NAPC. We will be doing shuttles on Thursday, day before the convergence begins, down to the NAPC site from the Twin Cities.
I would like to connect you to 2 other resources.
One is the Twin Cities Permaculture Facebook group.
The other is our Fb NAPC Rideshare group

Good Luck and let us know how it works out!
Happy to hear you are coming!

Monica, I’m not a Facebook subscriber so I don’t think I can access that. Your shuttle is on Thursday morning? I arrive there Thursday night. Where would I stay in Minneapolis?

      Hi Richard!

Thanks for letting us know ahead of time your travel plans.Skeeter told me that you are friends and to let you know to contact him.
We suspect that there will be more people on that train, even though you are one of the few that has contacted us. Currently we have people offering seat in their cars etc and are still considering trying to rent a shuttle but as of right now we have had few requests.
